Hi everyone! I just wanted to send everyone an update. I am home now and resting. I know you all heard a lot of different things that were wrong so here is what really happened. I was felling really horrible and went to the emergency room on Sunday night (6th) and they told me I had a kidney stone. On Monday I started feeling even worse. I had the shakes and chills really bad and couldn’t quit vomiting. Tuesday (8th) I had an appointment with the urologist and we planned to take the stone out on Monday. By Friday (11th) all of the symptoms had gotten worse and I was running a high fever. I though it was just the stone so I called Dr. Waters and he decided to admit me to the Bellevue hospital. I had my procedure done on Saturday morning. They did a complete work up of my blood to make sure there wasn’t anything else going on. After my procedure the nurse told us that my blood work came back and I had 2 blood infections and I was septic. This was really bad news. They decided on Sunday morning to put me in ICU because I was so septic. I started complaining of tightness in my chest so they took an x-ray. They found a blood clot on my lung. So now even more bad new. My mom and rick and dad and sally came up to be with me.  I was in ICU until Tuesday. They moved me once the blood infections were under control. So after a TON of medicine and a lot of prayers I got to come home on Thursday. I will be on blood thinners for a couple of months and Brent has to give me shots 2 times a day. It will take up to 6 months to totally get over everything.
All of this was a really scary experience. The doctors told us not once but twice that I could have died from this. The blood infections making me septic and the blood clot. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. This has really shown us how many people love and care for us.
Love,
Brent, Baranda, Emily & Mason

Backyardigans LIVE

April 3, 2008

We took Emily last night to see Backyardigans Live "Tale of The Might Knights!" We took a little mini trip over to Battle Creek Michigan to see the show. We headed up there yesterday morning and spent the night. Brent’s parents watched Mason when we were watching the show. Brent and I could not wait to see Emilys reaction when she first saw her favorite show in person. We thought she would be all smiles and super excited. Well the reaction was a little different. When we first got there she was really excited seeing all the other kids . We found our seats (we were 9 rows back on the floor) and sat down.

I snuck up to the vendors and got Emily a shirt and a fairy wand. We put the t-shirt on her and she was so funny because she was too busy trying to look at the shirt. Once the show stared she was glued to my lap and was wrapped around my arms holding on for dear life! I felt sooo bad. The auditorium was really loud so I think that bothered her a little bit. As the show went on her grip loosened up. By the end she was dancing on Daddy’s lap.

After the show we headed back to the room. I think she had more fun in the hotel room jumping on the bed then anything else.

As for the little mans first trip…he did great!!!!!
